Year 7 Trip to War Horse in London.
On Thursday 21st May a group of Year 7 students had the opportunity to go to London to see the matinee of the War Horse performance at the New London Theatre.
On the day we took the students on a mini tour of London to see sights such as the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and the National Theatre before heading the see the show.
At present year 7 students are studying the play War Horse in their Drama lessons and this was a huge opportunity for them to see the show first hand to enhance their own performances back at school.
“The experience was fantastic. The day was fantastic. It began with a brilliant tour of London where we saw many amazing sights and had our stop off for lunch. We even saw Big Ben and the London Eye. Out next destination was the theatre. We were able to buy goodies before we went in! the play was fantastic and full of ups and downs. This experience will really help me with my future Drama performances as I learned so much from being in the theatre and seeing professional actors on stage.” Jago Kesterton.
“When we went to see War Horse it was really good. We went sight seeing first and saw lots of amazing places and buildings. The performance itself was really good. I liked how the horses were made of sticks and that they had people moving them! It was a great day overall. Going to the theatre really helped as now I know how to use more drama techniques and I can include these in my work at school.” Holly George.
