GCSE music builds upon the skills gained during the
lower school. There are three sections to consider:-
1.
Listening 30%
Identifying instruments and
styles of music, discussing the mood and atmosphere of a piece and
demonstrating a clear understanding of musical theory.
2.
Performing 30%
This can be playing an
instrument or singing.
3.
Composing 40%
These will be notated
using computer software or using traditional and graphic notation.
Professional musicians visit on a regular basis and you
have the opportunity to attend and perform in a variety of concerts.
GCSE music is both fun and hard work!
