I
am privileged to be the new Headteacher of Kingsbury School
and would like to take this
opportunity to thank all those
who have offered their support
in recent weeks. I have
now had the chance to meet with
students and staff and have been
made to feel very welcome. It
is this supportive environment,
which is a key strength of the
school and helps us develop
individual talents and
abilities.
I am keen to
continue to develop this
supportive partnership through
more effective school, parent,
pupil and community
developments.
I
believe that a school is a
community in which we care for
one another with patience and
understanding, but also with
firmness and discipline.
We offer students of all
abilities the chance to succeed.
It is my aim to work with staff
and parents to identify the
unique needs of all our children
in order to help them attain the
very best results from their
time with us.
There are four "core values"
that I believe are essential to
the continuing development of
Kingsbury School. These
are learning, respect,
responsibility and standards.
These underpin everything we do.
It is important that we have a
well-ordered learning
environment. A school
cannot operate effectively
without high standards of
behaviour and I recognise that a
safe and orderly working
environment is essential if our
children are to flourish.
I am keen to actively encourage
students to pursue their
interests beyond the timetable.
There are already some excellent
activities for the students to
take advantage of.
At
present we are reflecting on how
things are for the students,
staff and parents. In the
future I will be asking for your
views on how we could improve.
There are many exciting
opportunities on the horizon and
I hope that together we carry on
the good work already done and
improve the school still
further. Our performance
in GCSE,s 2007 showed
improvement but we must not be
complacent. Our aim must
be to turn a good school in an
outstanding one.
