Catering

At Kingsbury School we are fortunate enough to have our own onsite catering facilities and we strive to ensure that the menus we offer are nutritious and wholesome. We are also aware that some students have allergies to certain foods. The links below detail the menus currently being offered and the allergens information related to foods being served.

We are also fortunate enough to have a dedicated team of catering staff who prepare fresh daily our menus.

The Catering Service at school uses a cashless bio metric system. To find out more details on how this works please see a copy of our letter and consent form here.

Food Allergies and Intolerance Information

In accordance with the Food Information Regulations 2014, there is a requirement that food businesses provide information about allergenic ingredients used in any food they sell or provide. Following on from this, there is a requirement that parents/carers provide details of any foods that their child is allergic or has intolerance to.

The 14 allergens are: celery, cereals containing gluten (such as barley and oats), crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs and lobsters), eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs (such as mussels and oysters), mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, sulphur dioxide and sulphites (if they are at a concentration of more than ten parts per million) and tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts).

Food allergens cannot be removed by cooking. That is why it is essential to check and ask for allergen information, to make sure the food you eat is safe for you.

Kingsbury School has a busy kitchen. It cannot guarantee that a meal will be completely free of a particular allergen as allergens are handled in our kitchen and tiny amounts may be present due to cross contamination from equipment during preparation.

Our unpackaged food items and homemade food may not be suitable for persons with severe allergies.

Please ask staff every time you visit for allergen information as ingredients may have changed since your last purchase, as allergen information may vary depending on the food supplier. Please speak to a member of the school catering team if you need information about the allergens in your food.  The team can be contacted by email catering4111@welearn365.com

You can find out more at www.food.gov.uk/allergy

A copy of our Food Allergies & Intolerance Letter along with a form to be completed regarding any food allergies and intolerance can be found here.
