Claire Bacciochi Scholarships
We were delighted to host our annual tea party on Wednesday 13th February to celebrate the distribution of our Claire Bacciochi Scholarships. This year, twelve students have applied for £500 scholarships in order to help them achieve their ambitions in the arts, sports and academia. In order to achieve their scholarships, our students have submitted letters describing their successes, achievements and aspirations. We are fortunate to be in a position to award these scholarships and we are grateful to the Bacciochi family for setting up the trust fund. Well done to all of our recipients and we wish them every success with their aspirations.

It has been brought to our attention that there was a suspicious incident this morning (12 November 2014) in Woodend in which a student believes they were followed by a white man in his mid 30’s driving a small silver car with blacked out windows. Celebrating our exam results
Kingsbury School students returned to school on August 21st to collect their GCSE results and were joined by several members of staff as they celebrated the schools best ever GCSE performance...
The pass rate this year at Level 2 (GCSE&BTEC) rose by 4% to 79% A*-C \ 71% A*-C including English and Maths, the highest ever achieved by the school, a result which for the second year running places Kingsbury as the highest performing school in North West Warwickshire and Tamworth.
The schools headline result was the product of excellent performance at the very highest level school wide. 84% of the schools students gained A*-C grades in English, 75% in Maths with 78% of students gaining two Science qualifications. Other notable performances were Astronomy where 100% of students gained A*-C with 55% gaining the top A and A* grades, Technology subjects (Textiles, Food and Resistant Materials) where 100% of students gained A*-C grades, 40% receiving the top A and A* grades and RE where 75% of students gained the top A* and A grades.
Headteacher Simon Cotton commented:
“This is the fifth consecutive year of improved results and fully justifies the award made to the school earlier in the year of 40th most improved school nationally. I am delighted with the success of our students and the continued improvement that we have seen across all subjects this year. These excellent results are a testament to the hard work of students and staff and the support given by parents and carers. Congratulations to each and every one of our students on their individual success, and I hope very much that they will keep us updated on their progress as they move on to the next stage in their lives”
Assistant Headteacher and Director of Sixth Form Debbie Hart said:
“I am very proud of the way our students have been supported to succeed this year. Such excellent pupil performance has resulted in a larger number than expected taking up places on their preferred courses in our new Sixth Form centre, developed with the support of North Warwickshire and Hinckley College (NWHC). Results however are only part of the story. A large number of our students this year have opted for a mix of vocational courses such as Engineering, allied to facilitating A level subjects. Our innovative link with NWHC has allowed students a wider choice than ever before and helps ensure that they study courses which have both a practical as well as academic application for their future”.
Kingsbury’s 2014 result makes it one of the highest performing schools nationally.
Welcome to our new website.
I would personally like to thank you for taking the time to visit Kingsbury School's website. Kingsbury is a school dedicated to putting learning first as we believe that successful learning helps provide a firm foundation for life...
We are proud of our “no stone unturned” approach to education, ensuring children of all abilities and from all backgrounds are encouraged to have high aspirations and work hard to achieve their goals. As a result we have gained national recognition as one of the top 100 most improved schools; a product of five years of record GCSE results.
We are also proud of our reputation as a caring school. Ofsted have recognised in our last three inspections that Kingsbury is a place where pupils feel safe and pastoral care and guidance is effective. As a smaller secondary school, we are able to work closely with our young people to develop their talents to the best of their abilities. Our size also makes it possible to work in close partnership with home to ensure that your child receives the best possible support and guidance to enable them to achieve their very best.
We hope the information within this website provides you with some additional details about our school that will be helpful to you.
We are always happy to show visitors around and should you have any questions that are not answered on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.
